This piece is inspired by Navajo weaving, but, I hope, doesn’t duplicate a Navajo design exactly. Since this is not a traditional design, there is no specific meaning attached. The ‘background’ is metallic gold painted over blue. To get a photograph for this blog it was necessary to shoot from an angle, otherwise the gold reflects back very strongly. 12 x 18 inches birch cradled panel. There may be some slight adjustments to this piece, but I feel it is generally finished.
