Youth Home Art display is up in Goodkind Building

June 3, 2014 at 3:58 pm

The display of the Youth Home teens art is up in Helena in the window of the Goodkind building. This is at the corner of 6th and Last Chance. We have five works from four artists. The pieces are scanned from original artwork, and printed on aluminum. The aluminum based images are extremely permanent, UV protected. They are about 2 ft x 2 ft, but sizes vary. Profits on sales go to the kids. They can really jazz up your home or office. Prices are $56 to $66, practically a steal. Donations over the amount of the stated price would be acceptable.mtyh_20140602_1 mtyh_20140602_2 mtyh_20140602_3

A Work in Progress

February 5, 2014 at 10:08 pm

med_IMG_6199_crop_curveThis piece is inspired by Navajo weaving, but, I hope, doesn’t duplicate a Navajo design exactly. Since this is not a traditional design, there is no specific meaning attached. The ‘background’ is metallic gold painted over blue. To get a photograph for this blog it was necessary to shoot from an angle, otherwise the gold reflects back very strongly. 12 x 18 inches birch cradled panel. There may be some slight adjustments to this piece, but I feel it is generally finished.
